cubus buys source code for Executive Viewer
11.12.2012 In early December 2012, cubus AG and IBM signed an agreement allowing cubus to develop a new product based on Executive Viewer technology. As a result, the company will soon launch its own version of the Web-based front end branded as “cubus outperform EV Analytics”. The new product will be fully compatible with the current version of Executive Viewer and will continue to support Oracle Essbase, Microsoft Analysis Services and IBM Cognos TM1 as OLAP platforms. Future product development will concentrate on functionality for self-service reporting and analysis, which was also Erik Weidgraaf’s focus for Executive Viewer over ten years ago.“In our opinion, Executive Viewer has always been the best and fastest Web-based front end for Oracle Essbase, Microsoft Analysis and IBM TM1,” explains Harald Matzke, a member of the executive board and director of sales and marketing at cubus AG. “We want to win over new and existing customers with the excellent performance, easy handling, lean administration and unique capabilities that these OLAP databases have to offer.” cubus plans to launch cubus outperform EV Analytics by the end of 2012. After taking the feedback of its customers into consideration, the company will also outline a roadmap for the analytic components of cubus outperform in the coming weeks. “Executive Viewer is already an integrated part of our Performance Management platform,” adds Thomas Volz, a member of the executive board and director of software development at cubus. “We want to make this integration even better and add new capabilities to make cubus outperform attractive to customers who have only used Executive Viewer to this point.” cubus is in an ideal position to further develop and successfully market Executive Viewer. The company, which has distributed this technology in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 1998, has vast skill sets in both consulting and support. Executive Viewer also stems from the same Microsoft development environment as the existing cubus outperform platform, which emerged from the products, cubus ABC for OLAP and cubus SPPM.
